Meet Zac Nevison, our new commercial accountant

Coming back to NZ from your overseas work experience can be challenging. But for Zac, things went faster than he could have foreseen: he arrived back in November, had an interview at Oil Intel in December and started in January. Time to catch a breath? No way!

A born and bred Napier boy, Zac always loved the laid-back vibe that Hawke’s Bay is renown for. Having previously called Auckland and London his homes, he does not miss the lengthy train rides to get to work. As you may expect, it is the analytical skills that make Zac so suitable to be a commercial accountant, however the words ‘great team’ and ‘collaboration’ pop up in our conversation several times. Even though he loves solving problems, he chose Oil Intel because of people and culture: ‘The work/life balance, the style of leadership: it was exactly what I was looking for. It has since been confirmed to me through my inductions and the way people treat you around here: ‘Richard Branson summarises it so well: “Train people well enough so they can leave, treat them well enough so they don’t want to.”’
